If you grew up in a neighborhood like Middle Village, you are going to love this! Reading about the ice cream trucks and the guys playing chess in the park felt like I was right back in Queens. Joey is such a great character, he’s got that classic sarcastic attitude but you can tell he’s got a big heart. 5 stars for the attitude alone.

I couldn't put this down! One minute I’m laughing at Tony 'Two Times' (get it, get it?) and the next, I’m holding my breath while Joey stares down a rival across the street. It’s got that gritty mafia feel but with a fresh twist since Joey is adopted into the family. It’s funny, it’s tense, and it’s a total page-turner.

Finally, a crime book that isn’t just dark and gloomy. The banter between Frankie and Joey is pure gold, you can tell the author speaks fluent sarcasm! It’s really interesting to see the business through Joey’s eyes as he tries to figure out if he even belongs there.
